Our Programs
Certified DOH Waiver Provider
We’re glad to share that The Wisdom Center for Autism is now an approved provider under Hawai‘i’s Medicaid Developmental Disabilities (DD/ID) Waiver program, through the Med-QUEST Division. This means eligible individuals and families can receive support services at home, in the community, and at the farm, in settings built around care, purpose, and real connection.
Our team works alongside each participant’s Individualized Service Plan (ISP) to provide meaningful, community-based support that meets people where they are and helps them grow in the ways that matter most.
The Farm: Nature-Based Therapy
Our farm offers a sanctuary where exceptional children can flourish through a deep, meaningful connection with the land. At the heart of our mission is horticultural therapy, where the hands-on act of nurturing plants allows participants to build cognitive skills and sensory regulation in a tactile, rewarding environment. We believe in the inherent healing power of nature; the open air and safety of the farm provide a calming alternative to the overstimulating world, naturally reducing anxiety and fostering emotional balance.
Community Gathering Space
Beyond our structured therapy programs, our campus serves as a vibrant community gathering space designed to foster connection. We open our gates to safe and quiet events hosted by a trusted circle of vetted facilitators. These events bridge the gap between our specialized services and the broader community.
Empower’d Maui Nui
Empower’d Maui Nui is a group for LGBTQ+ and Māhū youth and young adults in Maui County, based out of the Wisdom Center for Autism. We provide an online and in-person meeting space for our community.
Technical Training
Beyond our core therapeutic services, we host a high-tech acceleration program designed to empower community members with a natural aptitude for STEM. This initiative not only fosters technical excellence but ensures that our community remains at the cutting edge of purposeful, life-changing innovation.
